Ali Aghajani was a 26-year-old from Takestan who lost his life during the protest movement on January 9, 2026. While in the Shahre-Ziba neighborhood of Tehran, he was targeted by security forces positioned on the roof of the Masjed-ol-Rasul mosque. He was shot in the neck with live ammunition, a wound that proved fatal. Following his death, authorities reportedly pressured his family to obscure the cause of his passing, demanding that his obituary list a "car accident" as the reason for his death. Despite these efforts at concealment, Ali was honored as a martyr of the movement and is remembered as a "Javidnam" (Eternal Name). He was laid to rest in a village near his hometown of Takestan.
